Prof. Takeo Ogawa, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus at Kyushu University and Yamaguchi University, Japan, with a distinguished career in sociology, social policy, and human welfare studies. He has held academic positions across leading Japanese universities and has been recognized with the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, awarded by the Emperor of Japan for his contributions to society and academia. His work has long focused on aging populations, social welfare systems, and community-based development.
He currently serves as Chairperson of the Fukuoka Council for Designing Society in Aging Asia and Director of the Keishin-Gakuen Research, Development and Innovation Center for Vocational Education and Training. He is also a leading figure in regional and international initiatives on active aging, long-term care systems, and workforce development, including collaborations across Asia through organizations such as ERIA and the Active Aging Consortium Asia Pacific.
Prof. Ogawa brings legendary and extensive expertise in aging societies, social protection, and capacity building for long-term care.
